NATIONAL FOREST INVENTORY FIELD DATA COLLECTION AREA S3:
The Forestry Commission is inviting tenders to carry out field data collection work for the National Forest inventory in Bid Area S3. This work will require surveyors to locate and visit 1-ha Sample squares and use bespoke GIS software to map the location of 1-ha Sample Squares, Section them and then assess a number of attributes e.g. tree species, mensuration parameneters and NVC as per the NFI Survey Manual (see http://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/NFI-survey-manual.pdf/$FILE/NFI-survey-manual.pdf).
The estimated total value of the contract is £32,000 (subject to funding).
Area S3: approximately 120 sample squares in this Financial Year and approximately 70 in the next Financial year
The anticipated contract start date will be 5th August 2013 to be completed by 31st March 2015

FOR SALE - NORWAY SPRUCE CHRISTMAS TREES GROWN IN YORKSHIRE FOREST DISTRICT
The Forestry Commission is inviting tenders for the purchase of premium quality Norway spruce Christmas trees. All trees are sheared and base pruned and grown in a plantation at Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire with full FSC certification .
10,000 trees are available in total, split into Lots of 500 trees.
Trees to be sold at roadside, netted and palletised on substantial hard standing suitable for articulated wagons.
The intention is for bidders to be notified of the outcome of the tender by 31st July, with contracts signed by 9th August 2013.
The anticipated contract start date will be 4th November 2013 to be completed by 20th December 2013.
There is the potential for agreements to be awarded on a 1 Year + 1 Year + 1 Year basis, with any extensions being based on satisfactory completion of current year.

DIRECT PRODUCTION CONTINUOUS COVER THINNING HARVESTING NORTH ENGLAND FOREST DISTRICT
