The Forestry Commission is inviting tenders for Forest Management Operations in Quantocks & Exmoor and East Devon. This will require a small team of skilled operatives to undertake a range of tasks such as Chainsaw felling, brush cutter and clearing saw work and pesticide application

The estimated total value of the contract is £160,000

The anticipated contract start date will be 2nd of February 2015 to be completed by 31st December 2015.

If mutually agreeable the contract may be extended by  additional years, but not to exceed three years in total.

REROOFING OF VEHICLE WORKSHOPS AT CASTLEMAIN, PARKEND, LYDNEY, GLOS

The Forestry Commission is inviting tenders for the contract to carry out re roofing work to Castlemain VME, Parkend, Lydney, Glos. The roof is clad with big six asbestos cement sheeting and associated skylights.  The reroofing will be in Insulated composite sheeting and matching skylights.

The estimated total value of the contract is £70,000

INTERNAL FIT OUT TO FORM DEER/BOAR LARDER WITHIN REDUNDANT VEHICLE WORKSHOPS AT CASTLEMAIN, PARKEND, LYDNEY, GLOS

The Forestry Commission is inviting tenders for the contract to carry out the internal fit out work to form a new Deer larder at Castlemain VME, Parkend, Lydney, Glos. The fit out will form a new preparation area, chilled store and Chiller unit within the old workshop space.  The fit out contractor can if they wish also tender for the building works associated with the fit out.  The fit out will be in Insulated composite panels and include the full rail and handling systems and their support structures.

The estimated total value of the contract is £80,000

DESIGN AND PRODUCTION OF MOBILE APP FOR WESTONBIRT, THE NATIONAL ARBORETUM, GLOUCESTERSHIRE
INVITATION TO TENDER

The Forestry Commission is inviting tenders for the design and build of a mobile app for Westonbirt, The National Arboretum to add to the interpretation offer onsite for families and young people. The contract also includes post-production support including uploading, marketing and maintenance/content updating for three years.

Specifically we are looking to create an exciting new game-based experience that challenges families and young people to explore the arboretum through hands-on discovery, so that they both enjoy the arboretum but also surreptitiously learn about our outstanding tree collection and precious environmental heritage. This free app would be available to both Android and iOS systems. 

Bidders are invited to attend a Bidder Briefing Day on Friday 21st November to help them understand more about the requirements of this contract.

The total value of this contract over the entire period will be in the region of £44,000.

The anticipated contract start date will be 19th January 2015. The development phase is to be completed by July 2015, followed by a 3 year service agreement.

TICKETLESS ANPR CAR PARK BARRIER SYSTEM- ALICE HOLT AND MOORS VALLEY

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY TO DELIVER LED LEARNING PROGRAMMES AT GRIZEDALE FOREST INVITATION TO TENDER

The Forestry Commission is now offering a unique opportunity for a provider to deliver led programmes and activities at Grizedale.

This business opportunity will require a provider who is a skilled educator, and who is able to inspire and encourage groups from EYFS through to KS3 to engage with and learn about the forest.

We are looking for a learning provider who is able to:

~ Include the FC learning message in all programmes

~ Lead curriculum-linked activities

~ Deliver programmes to EYFS, KS1, KS2 and KS3

~ Offer activities all year round

~ Increase the number of learners taking part in a led programme

CLEANING SERVICES FOR PUBLIC AND OFFICE SPACES AND WINDOWS AT WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM INVITATION TO TENDER

The Forestry Commission is inviting tenders for cleaning of facilities at Westonbirt Arboretum for 2015-2018:

Lot 1: Will cover daily cleaning of all staff and public toilets, office spaces, staff kitchen and eating areas and the Great Oak Hall. It will also include provision of all cleaning equipment and supplies as well as all toilet paper and handtowels as necessary.

Lot 2: Will cover a quarterly clean of all windows on site, internal and external. 

Closing date for notification of interest is 4pm on Monday 8th December 2014

If a bidder day and/or site visits are to be carried out, then the EOI date must be before these activities happen, to ensure that all bidders have the opportunity to attend.

The estimated total value of the contract is £180,000

INVITATION TO TENDER FOR SECURITY AND STEWARDING AT FOREST LIVE OUTDOOR CONCERTS 2015 TO 2018

The FC intends to award a framework contract for security and stewarding at Forest Live outdoor concerts. Concerts take place in June and July at seven forest venues throughout England over approx 24 dates per year.

Duties include managing entrance gates, backstage, pit and arena with appropriately trained and experienced SIA security staff and stewards.

The Forestry Commission’s focus is on delivering a safe and enjoyable event for concert-goers through excellent customer care and polite and friendly staff.

This contract is one lot and will not be subdivided

The estimated contract value is £680,000 over the maximum four year life of the contract

Our intention is to award this contract for an initial period of one year.
There will be an option to extend the contract by three further one- year periods up to a further three years in total, making a maximum contract term of four years

FELLING AND CLEARANCE OF PHYTOPHTHORA AFFECTED TREES
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST      

Forestry Commission England is inviting expressions of interest for contracts to undertake the initial cutting of tree crops affected by Phytophthora ramorum.
The work is to comply with felling notices that will be issued as and when diseased areas are confirmed. As yet there is no information about the final size or value of the clearance programme.
Under the Plant Health Act, Forest Enterprise is currently required to cut an as yet unknown area of predominantly larch crops in the South West, and North West of England to various deadlines up to April 2015.  The contracts will be to fell or clear young crops, to ensure that the trees cannot spread the disease.  Further working of the felled trees (conversion, extraction, stacking, etc) may be included.  Once felling notices are issued, the work areas will be tendered in several different sized Lots according to geographic, crop and terrain features.
We anticipate tendering work in Lots that will generally be in the range of £5.000 - £50,000.  The number of Lots is as yet unknown.
Commencement dates will be as soon as possible after contracts are awarded.  Time will be the essence of the contracts with full completion expected by the date agreed with the successful bidder.
