This map shows the boundary of Strategic Search area C along with the freehold land within in that is managed by FCW, for which the NFEWFP ran a tender.
The successful devleoper in the NFEWFP tender process was Airtricity Holdings Limited. The Welsh Government have now signed an Option Agreement with Airtricity Holdings Limited giving them the exclusive right to seek planning permission. Should they be successful the Welsh Government will enter into a Development Lease, and subsequently a 25 year Operating Lease with Airtricity.
This development is potentially in excess of 50MW and will therefore be dealt with by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) as the Planning Authority.
Initially the developer will submit a scoping consultation to DECC outlining what impacts they will assess as part of their Environmental Impact Assessment. DECC will consult with its statutory consultees and then respond to the developer with a scoping opinion which outlines the issues they expect the developer to address in their planning application.
