Here's you guide to some of the best views in the region!

For the best views in the Marches on a clear day climb to the top of High Vinnalls in Mortimer Forest near Ludlow.

Stile Cop on Cannock Chase gives views across the forest and beyond from the top of the downhill course.  This trail is for experienced mountain bikers only, so you may prefer to just take in the view.

Hawkbatch Wood has two waymarked trails  - follow the red trail to discover spectacular views across Trimpley Reservoir, the only view out of the Wyre Forest.

Explore by Bike

Visit Wyre Forest and cycle their blue route out along the dissused railway.

Fill your lungs full of fresh air on Cannock Chase by following the leisure trail through the forest and heathland.

Try the yellow trail in Eastridge Wood if you are up to a singletrack ride.  As you enjoy the fun of this woodland's climbs and descents remember to take in the glimpses of the surrounding countryside.

Keep the Kids Happy

There is always lots for little people to discover and explore in our woodlands wherever they go, but if you would like a playground visit Birches Valley Forest Centre on Cannock Chase or Wyre Forest Visitor Centre near Bewdley.  The teams at these visitor centres also run children's activities.

If you are out and about with a buggy try our all ability trails at Vinnalls near Ludlow, Haughmond Hill near Shrewsbury or The Wren trail in Wyre Forest, they are flat and so suit small wheels and little legs alike.

See Wildlife

The deer rutt is just around the corner, keep your wits about when driving in wooded areas, the deer have their minds on other things and may not notice you!

Ever tried orienteering?  There are a number of permenant courses in the West Midlands for you to enjoy.  Why not start with the Tackeroo Course on Cannock Chase or pick up a map at Wyre Forest Visitor Centre and try out one of the three courses there.

Does art belong in the forest?  Why not decide for yourself?  The Route to Health on Cannock Chase is an easy walk with a health message spelt out with pieces of  art work, contributed by local community groups.  This long running project has won international attention and well worth a visit as part of a day out on Cannock Chase.
