Similar surveys have been carried out at intervals of around 5 years from the 1980s to 1998/9, but the survey has since been discontinued.
Forest Employment Survey 1998/9 (published January 2001) gives the numbers of full-time equivalent jobs in 1998/9 in British forestry and primary wood processing of British timber. A regional breakdown is also available.
