Forestry Commission Retirement Association (North Wales)

All retired (as well as those nearing retirement), Forestry Commission employees, whatever job you carried out, are very welcome to join the FCA and all are treated as equal. There is basically only one aim and that is to enjoy life and keep in contact with "old" friends: to that end the FCA is there to help you. We organise three field visits each year to interesting venues within the North Wales area and our visits are well attended. In recent years for example we have visited Coed y Brenin near Dolgellau, the Electric Mountain at Llanberis, Erddig Hall near Wrexham and the Llanfair Caereinion/Welshpool light railway. We always have a good attendance (which can be about 30) and are well looked after by our hosts. We usually meet about mid day for a picnic lunch and to start the social part of the day, finishing by about 5:00pm.

In addition we have a Christmas Lunch each year, usually in early December and up to 60 members and friends join us for a great social event.

There is a brief report with photographs on the events page of our visits over recent years. We also have information about the visits due for the rest of the year.

Any retired person and partner may become life members for 20 or pay an annual subscription of 3 (current rates). Partners and family are also welcome to join in and sometimes act as drivers.
