Bedgebury’s new Car Park Payment System
We are introducing a new payment system at Bedgebury in January 2012, based on number plate recognition. While we will still be charging by the vehicle at a daily rate, the new system will be ticketless, quicker and more efficient. Car park refurbishment and landscaping will be taking place at the same time.
Please note – Bedgebury will remain open throughout
On entry
• When you arrive, please stop at the barriers.
• A camera will log your vehicle’s registration number.
• The barrier will lift, allowing you to enter and park.
• There will be two entry lanes (one of them wider for coaches).
• There will be three new payment machines located at the Visitor Centre end of the car park.
• Two machines will be for card payment only
• One machine will take cards, coins, notes and give change.
• You will need to enter your car registration number into the payment machine before you pay.
• You can pay at any time during your visit.
• If you have a free voucher or reciprocal pass you will need to visit the Information Office, so they can enter your car registration number into the system.
Friends/ Cycle Club Members
• If you have Bedgebury membership your vehicle details will be logged onto the new system.
• You will then be able to come and go as you like.
• You must inform staff if you have a change of vehicle registration.
On exit
• As you approach the exit barrier, the camera will note your car registration number
• If you have paid, your number will be on the system. The barrier will then lift and allow you to exit.
• You will not be able to leave the site unless your vehicle’s number plate has been entered onto the system.
Timescales
• Work is scheduled to start in early January 2012
It should be completed by the end of March
