Culbin is free to visit and is open all year round. It's located along the Moray Firth coastline east of Nairn and west of Forres. The main entrance (at Wellhill) is near Forres and well signposted from the A96.

Where should I start?
- Head for the main car park at Wellhill if you’re a first time visitor, coming to walk or cycle, or to look at forest birdlife.
- If you're coming to horse ride, head for Cloddymoss.
- For coastal birdwatching head to Nairn East Beach.
So how do I get there?
By car:
Leave the A96 Inverness – Aberdeen road at Brodie, following the signs to Culbin.
By train:
The nearest station is Forres, three miles from Wellhill on foot, or a ten minute taxi-ride. Check train times on the Scotrail website.
By bus:
Forres has good connections running between Aberdeen and Inverness. Moray Council offers a limited local service (no. 318) running to Kintessack from Forres on schooldays, Tuesdays and Fridays. It's about a mile from Kintessack to Wellhill.
By bike:
National Cycle Route 1 runs through the south side of Culbin, around 800 metres from the main car park at Wellhill. For more details see the sustrans website.
