An Enchanted Christmas: Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, 5-8.30pm (last entry 7.15pm), 29 Nov - 22 Dec 2013.

Westonbirt Arboretum's Enchanted Christmas features a spectacular one mile illuminated trail, highlighting the striking structures of Westonbirt’s trees as they are illuminated against the winter night sky. A new route is created each year to take in different specimens, paths and vistas in the tree collection.

How to book

To receive our great group rates (for 10 people or more) you need to pre-pay for your group ahead of your visit. We are currently making some changes to the way we take group bookings but in the meantime, please continue to book via helen.d.daniels@forestry.gsi.gov.uk or 01666 881200.

Why Westonbirt?

Our group-friendly location: we're located in Gloucestershire, just a few miles outside of the delightful market town of Tetbury and a stone's throw from Highgrove House, making Westonbirt an ideal destination in your itinerary for a group day out in the south of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Westonbirt Arboretum is within easy driving distance of the many historic cities and towns in the south west of England which are a magnet for group visits. We are within an hour's drive of Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath.

Westonbirt Arboretum is an accessible site for all abilities, with wheelchairs and mobility scooters available for free use when booked in advance.

Trails

Follow the seasonal trails around the Old Arboretum and Silk Wood, or download the audio trail. The audio trail has been developed in partnership with the Macular Disease Society for people with limited sight, but is accessible for everyone. More information can be found on our trails page.

Great souvenirs, plants and shrubs!

The Westonbirt Shop is a great place to shop for souvenirs, crafts, accessories and gardening books. For gardeners, the Westonbirt Plant Centre offers everything from herbaceous perennials and trees to gardening gifts. Both are managed by The Garden Centre Group and have a superb range of gifts and plants to choose from.

Coach hosts and group guides

A friendly and knowledgeable host can be arranged to welcome group visits, give a brief introduction to the site and directions to facilities. Our designated coach area offers free coach parking.

Experienced Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum volunteer guides offer guided tours to help visitors delve into the history of Westonbirt as a garden and its importance as a tree collection. These tours must be booked at least one month in advance and cost £30 for up to 25 people.

Talks to groups

Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic speakers are willing to travel to your group's meeting venue. The "Wonders of Westonbirt" talk covers the seasons, events and future direction at the beautiful National Arboretum. Westonbirt's talks to groups are supported by power-point material and are designed to take place indoors.
