We understand that by giving you real challenge and having high expectations that you will make a real difference to the business. It will be exciting but also could be daunting. So it is important that you know you will not be on your own. We are making a big investment in you and we want you to succeed so you will receive plenty of support throughout the 3 years on the programme.
- Human Resources (HR) – Firstly there will be a ‘friendly face’ in Learning and Development. This person will be your first point of contact even before you join us and they will meet you on your arrival. They will be there to support, guide and advise you throughout your 3 years on the programme
- Mentor – You will be allocated a mentor who is someone who’ll be there to offer a sensitive ear, level headed advice and practical assistance, but who is not directly involved in a line managerial role. Their role is not to tell you what to do but to help you face the challenges and develop your own solutions.
- Line Manager – As well as the long term support provided by HR and your mentor, you’ll also benefit from the short term backing of the person you report to. They will be an influential figure and will support and guide you day to day. They will provide clear objectives, appropriate training and open and honest feedback.
- Colleagues – We actively encourage employees to network both formally and informally. You will find plenty of support and advice from people in the organisation.
NB - There will be no financial support for your first placement move, but thereafter you will be supported financially by the Forestry Commission.
