The Forestry Commission manages 134 car parks across the New Forest from time to time, some of these car parks wil need to be closed. Please see details of seasonal car park closures below.
Winter Car Park Closures
4th November 2011 - 30th March 2012During the quieter winter period when the maximum capacity for car parking is not required a proportion of these car parks are closed to reduce wear and tear. Those car parks which are closed have alternatives close by to ensure the minimum of inconvenience to people. Some of the closed car parks may be repaired during this period but resources will be directed to maintaining those car parks that remain open.
The car parks that will be closed during this period have been identified on this map(997k).
As usual, the Reptile Centre will be closed from mid-September, re-opening at the beginning of April.

Blackwater car park and trail
Felling work around Blackwater car park and trail has finished for the moment. The car park and trail have been reopened although further work may require another short term closure over the next few weeks/months.
The cycle route has also been opened although users should still be aware of timber lorries using the tracks.
