Wild Ennerdale

Looking up the Ennerdale Valley

Ennerdale is a dramatic wild valley a tranquil and spiritually refreshing place.

The large scale and diversity of its landscapes, incorporating farming, mixed forest, rivers, lake, open fell and mountains, combined with the relative lack of roads, traffic, buildings and people all contribute to enhance the sense of wildnes experienced in this special valley.

Wild Ennerdale is a partnership between The Forestry Commission (FC), The National Trust (NT) and United Utilities (UU) with a vision "To allow the evolution of Ennerdale as a wild valley for the benefit of people relying more on natural processes to shape its landscape and ecology".

For more information visit the Wild Ennerdale Partnership website or join the partnership on Facebook.
