The North Cumbria team covers North and East Cumbria and is based at Peil Wyke and at Whinlatter Visitor Centre overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake.
The team is responsible for Whinlatter Forest park, the Visitor Centre and Education and Recreations Services from the centre.The team also manages Wythop, Dodd Wood, Setmurthy & Sawmill Wood, Parkwood Isel, Howgill & Messengermire, Matterdale, Parsons Park, Highstand and Coombes Wood.
The team is involved in the Lake District Osprey Project with the National Park Authority and RSPB which provides Osprey viewing facilities at Whinlatter Visitor Centre and Dodd Wood and is working to protect and increase Osprey numbers across Cumbria.
