Forestry Commission production forecasts are currently published every 5 years. Timber sale volumes are produced yearly and represent the FC's planned sale quantity for the specified financial year.
2011 Forecast
These publications take National Forest Inventory data and, together with Forestry Commission growth and yield models, provide forecasts of forest metrics such as:
- Standing volume;
- Increment;
- Softwood availability.
