We have worked with Natural England and the Environment Agency to produce a joint statement on our work with the Third Sector. The Third sector is invaluable to delivering the outcomes that we wish to see from the Strategy for England's Trees, Woods and Forests and includes charities, the voluntary sector, not for profit organisations, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO's) and social enterprises.
This statement support Defra's Third Sector Strategy, published in 2008 which draws on the Compact. The Compact is an agreement between Government and the voluntary and community sector in England. It recognises shared values, principles and commitments and sets out guidelines for how both parties should work together.
This joint statement is the start of a process and each organisation will be developing their own action plan. We will start developing ours during 2010/11, starting with a review and analysis of the existing relationships we currently have.
