Went out on the mountainbike last weekend - great place to ride and track is well maintained. There are some challenging parts within the track but this is what you can expect on a red route - the alternative is the blue 'family route'.

I have to say the forest and surrounding are wonderful. My problem is with the prices in the cafe, to charge ■4.75 for a child's pack lunch that consist of a jam sandwich, packet of crisps and a kitkat is just shameful. I paid ■4.25 for a baget with 2 sausages in it and they hadn't even buttered it!!!!! So if you go be prepared with your own food and plenty of drinks as they really do take advantage of you.

We are delighted to say that Bedgebury has secured funding to redevelop the café facilities at the visitor centre. Visit the dedicated page on this website to find out more. http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/infd-9mydbq

We have been visiting the pinetum for over 40 years, since the days of the honesty box for entry. Whilst we appreciate the need to finance the pinetum we were disappointed to see the entrance fee has again risen and is now ■9.50 per day and will surely deter those visitors, who like us, live locally and enjoy coming for a short walk. Could consideration be given to an option to pay for half or part of a day?

Mrs A Irvine, 13/Aug/2014

If you are a regular visitor to Bedgebury, have you considered becoming a member? It represents great value and as our primary source of investment, every penny you spend goes straight back into Bedgebury so we can continue to protect, improve and expand the public forest estate. Without your support, much of our work wouldn’t be possible. We look forward to welcoming you back.

This is a great place to take children! My boys (2 and 4) absolutely loved the hunt for the Gruffalo, and the adventure play trail. We stayed for about 5 hours, they loved every minute and didn't complain once about being tired or bored! We'll definitely be purchasing a membership and will be back asap. Recommended to all families.

Riding with a friend for the first time we took it easy to start but trust me you get into the flow real quick. It was great fun ups downs all arounds flying through the air on the camel humps, sliding around in the mud. You can have as much fun as you want with a good mix of riding to suit all. I will be going to this place from now on whenever I get the chance, it's so worth the visit trust in me you will enjoy. It's got it all parking toilets cafe etc and everything you will need for a great days riding. See you again soon :)

Fantastic family day out!! We took our boys (age 5 and 8) and the family bike trail was perfect. Plus they loved the adventure playground and the opportunity to play with as many big sticks as they wanted!! We are now trying to plan a day without they kids so we can try some of the harder trails. Also Quench Cycles were really helpful and nice.

Paid my first visit to bedgebury on Sunday 6th april with mountain bike in tow along with a few others who have been to bedgebury a few times. I had a brilliant ride down as many trails as we could fit in and loved the experience. Beautiful forest and all nicely laid out. The only downside is the cost of parking. ■9.50 for the day is a bit too steep in my opinion. All in all a great day but the car park charges took the shine off my experience a bit.

We had a wonderful trip to Bedgebury at the weekend. Well though out place for all. We had a small toddler and dog and found the site well equipped with bins and benches we could sit right by the lake. Even provided poop bags...which we had forgotten. Great place and great value at 9.50 for a car!!

We had an excellent time. My kids did Go Ape and my son, who is 7 and autistic, was treated with great kindness and understanding by the Go Ape staff who are lovely people - they even gave me a bunch of daffodils to celebrate Mothering Sunday! Such a beautiful and interesting place - all excellent and a very successful, "special" day out.

me and the family really enjoyed bedgebury single track, was nice easy route so i could help my 8 year old son improve his riding skills, only negative i have is that i got charged ■17.50 for parking my van... bit steap as three people three bikes in the van where an estate car is possible to carry 7 people and possible seven bikes, not quite fair really! appart from that loved the place

My husband and I had a beautiful wander all around the forest yesterday. We signed up for membership as we will definitely be coming again and again. The whole set up is friendly, efficient and both trips to the cafe (before and after our walk) were a delight. The food was very good and I think, fairly priced. Very happy with our new discovery! Perfect day.

Loved this place. It looked just how I imagine heaven would look like. The trees are magnificent and the autumn gold was there for all to see. There is free parking 10 mins away at the local co op or at the pub but the admission fee was well worth it. The paths are well maintained and the cafe had nice cake and a mugs of tea. Be aware that hot goods e.g bacon buttons are priced at champagne high prices so cake and tea only. Bring your own sandwiches. Dogs are allowed in cafe and admin office. There are fridge magnets and trinkets on sale at the admin office. I wished there was a dedicated souvenir shop as I like to buy little trinkets to remind me of my great visit. I loved this place and my dog Koda enjoyed the autumn walk, family bike path, longer blue route. I felt the walks were well structured and enjoyed every minute. I want to return to see the changes of seasons here. I felt so at ease here. It is one of the seven wonders of Kent Weald and gorgeous me this place ticked all the boxes. The place is welcoming to muddy boots, muddy dogs and muddy kids. All are welcome.

We are so glad that you liked Bedgebury so much, and also pleased that you feel that the site entry fee is good value. The money received from site entry goes straight back in to making Bedgebury into the place that people can love and enjoy. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Excellent signage on pathways maintained and well thought out. I undertook the family cycle route, autumn trail and 7 mile route. Dog loved it so much that I had to carry him back to the car. There is free parking at the co op 10 mins away. The admission fee is truly worth it.

Beautiful place. If you view 8.50 as admission, not just parking, it is good value- with the added incentive to fill a car or use your bike to reduce cost and carbon footprint.

Just got back from a day at Bedgebury and had a fantastic time. We did archery in the morning, with 5 children age ranging from 8 - 10. The instruction was excellent and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Good value for money. In afternoon we did Junior Go Ape, again was good value, and although we had 10 years with us was still exciting enough for them. They had an hour of fun. A great day out!

We went to go ape, but parking of ■8.50 on top seemed rather excessive, furthermore the on site cafe we thought was not good value for money. Lovely environment , but won't be returning in a hurry!

Came to Bedgebury Forest to have a go on your red route singletrack and it was amazing, very challenging really encourages you to ride at your best because of the quality of the trails and the many sections each ride very differently which means you never get a chance to settledown into a pace. What makes its nicer is its not just a downhill track its a XC track with short uphills that are very challenging and jumps that give you the same buzz without needing body armour or dedicated full suspension bike.

We had a great evening seeing Will Young, it's just a shame that it took us longer than he was on stage to leave!! Great place I don't think I'd come back to see another concert here just for that reason! It was bedlam.

Hello, we'd like to bring a group of about 10 children, aged between 9 and 12 to Bedgebury having heard about it from friends who went cycling there, but do you have any walking trails that we can do with them as we don't want to cycle. If so, how long do they take to do roughly and can we get a copy before we arrive? Look forward to hearing back from you so that I can plan our day. Thank you in advance. Angie

I LOVE Bedgebury Forest! I think the new car parking system is great. I no longer need to remember to put my pass on the windscreen which is very handy. The cycle tracks are fantastic. Every path is marked and it is easy to find where you are. I think I will be hard pushed to find a decent cycle track like this that is worth driving to. Oh and the carrot cake is the best ever!

Enjoyed the day overall- car parking expensive however and the system for paying awful. The worst thing was the lack of coherent signs throughout the cycling path network- we got lost at nearly every t junction or turn. The map was close to useless too.
