Visited today with my 2 grandchildren and we had a fantastic day! The sun was out & lots of people, but I was amazed at how peaceful it was! Would recommend for a lovely, chilled day out and I defy any child not to enjoy themselves!

thanks for your lovely comments, so glad you and your grandchildren enjoyed your visit.

My mum and I took my two year old twins on the play trail today - it was awesome! They had the best time and it was lovely for me to let them out of the buggy to walk without worrying about not being able to see them/getting lost in busy crowds. We absolutely will be returning - I think we only saw a fraction of what there is to see. Well worth the 10.

A great part of Bedgebury and plenty of fun for the kids. Good value for money. Yes, it's 12 to park but there's no entry fee to enjoy the beautiful setting. A brilliant day out, thank you

Loved the Stick Man trail. Our kids loved the Stick Man trail. They were captivated and determined to find and do everything. Keep up the good work.

I have been visiting the forest for a while and always enjoyed the facilities, i had been putoff by the rather steep price for parking until a friend mentioned becoming a member, the price to become a member is not cheap but so worth it. I do feel you need to advertise the membership more as i knew nothing about it.

I use bedgebury to ride the blue route with my partner, red routes on my own and the play areas for my neices, it has everything you need and if you're local just become a "friend" member, it's worth it :)

I don't think I have been so sad after a visit to a country park with a theme.

Four grandchildren under 4 were trying to follow the stick man with his problems,( where was the magic of Julia Donaldson? I will let her know. You have let her down.) only to find posts with character faces on. The family tree looked like two dead bushes which the children did not want to put their stick men on.

10 each for 4 cars for a birthday picnic plus stickman Mcdonald like leaflets for 3 for each child is not value for money.

Go to your local woods with your own imagination and you will have more fun without expectation.

Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the Stick Man Trail but hope to see you again as we also like to encourage children to enjoy the natural beauty of the forest and let their imagination run wild.

Another excellent ride out on the bikes today, but again only one shower working which is some what frustrating(it's been like this all year). In the main the whole off Bedgebury is great but please be fair with the new paking charges from April 2016 going to 12 for a Saturday or Sunday visit (we stay for 3 hours max bring 2 vehicles and eat a lot in the cafe!!, becoming not cost effective for our morning ride out, may look to go else where) please consider half day parking as you would gain more in the long run. Thanks for a wonderful morning on the trails.

As a regular walker around the pinetum and one who enjoys the occasional coffee, it is very disappointing that there is now no covered space to sit at the visitor's centre. Bearing in mind the location of the caf, within an outdoor recreational area, it is also inconvenient in that dogs are not allowed in the caf, which deters it's use. This morning I tied the dogs outside and went inside to get a coffee. Having stood at the counter for more than five minutes, firstly while no-one came to serve and then while one customer was served extremely slowly, I finally gave up and left. Others in the queue were similarly frustrate. I dread to think of the wait for service during a busy day!

Please take this a constructive criticism.

Had a lovely time as always when come to bedgebury. Our 3 year old daughter had much fun on the trails and exploring the woodland. Although your new facilities are lovely and we did enjoy a good meal in the cafe we found it disappointing that there was no facilities to eat inside with the dog having a 4 month old child meant the weather was not suited to eating outside.

Vicki, 28/Nov/2015

Great to hear that you enjoyed your visit, and thank you for your feedback. Since introducing the changes to the new Bedgebury Café and visitor centre, we have been looking at providing some additional facilities for our dog walkers and hope to introduce them as soon as possible.

We arrived this afternoon wanting to spend an hour in the pinetum, but were greatly put off by the 10 parking fee.

Fine if you want to spend all day, but rather a rip off for visitors wanting to spend a couple of hours or less. Also no indication in car park of charges til you get to the pay point. Many other parents arriving at 2.30 were also surprised at the one tier price and like us could not find the information point! Perhaps a half day charge could be added of 5.

catharin clement, 2/Nov/2015

thank you for your feedback. We believe that the Bedgebury vehicle admission fee represents great value for money with everything there is to enjoy in the forest and pinetum and all income from admission is invested back in to the site for future enjoyment. Our Friends of Bedgebury annual membership also offers great value for anyone visiting more regularly and for shorter stays.

We had a lovely day out in beautiful surroundings. An excellent lunch. The only negative we could think of was the lack of unisex baby changing facilities. I like to think that I am a modern dad and was doing my bit with our 4 month old son only to find I couldn't as the baby changing facility in the cafe was in the ladies toilet. Fortunately my wife was with me and could do the honours. Other than that a great day out!

Bedgebury is a must for Mountain Bikers, its nice to go to a forest or national park that isn't anti cyclists. I go to the forest whenever i get the chance. 5 Stars !!!!!

Great place for a day out but needs a toilet area in the children's play area. I know there are signs to tell you that there are no toilets there but it is a long walk back for children (and adults) Even a few porta loos would help!

We came to visit on Father's Day 2015 and had an amazing time, my daughter is a wheelchair user and we were delighted with how much access she managed in her electric chair. One small thing which may provide a source of income, the souvenirs were quite limited and I felt that a small teddy with a logo t.shirt, or an embroidered foot would fly off the shelves - all kids like bears and we all know where teddy bears go for picnics ! Otherwise we had a lovely time and the staff were knowledgeable and courteous.

Great place to take a family especially if you take your own picnic. Loads of places for children to play using their imagination to create play situations. Dog owners are all friendly and most, but shamefully not all clean up after their dogs. Biggest problem especially at weekends and holidays are cyclists. Aggresive behaviour from the so called "Bradley Wiggins " would bes. Hardly any cyclist gives any audible warning of their approach. As so much money has been spent on cycling trails these cyclists should stick to them and leave the metalled paths to children on bikes and families with toddlers and pushchairs.

Well we are local and have been going to this site for years .. The changes are not good, the new Cafe is hugely expensive and the quewing today for hot food is no improvement on what we had before .. We will still go But picnic is my recommendation..

What wonderful value. We were only charged 10 admission for bringing in a car,2 adults, 3 children and a dog for a whole day. We had a fabulous time, the children loved the play trail and the dog loved the forest walks.

A fantastic place for so many outdoor activites all in a beautiful wildlife rich environment. It's a shame so many dog owners don't feel the need to either control or clean up after their pets. Also, the car park seems incredibly expensive, especially considering you will likely be paying for other activities/food while there. However, otherwise the forest itself and the facilities are clearly looked after well. There's a lovely big pond at the edge of the pinetum with lots of ducks and geese. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a wonderful 2 and a half hours looking at the ducks and following the Gruffalo Child's Trail with my two year old granddaughter. Thought the Activity pack could have had a little more content eg the pencil should have been a better Gruffalo themed keepsake.

Also called in at the temporary marquee based cafe; unfortunately

found the prices a little expensive but were able to eat

our own packed lunch there along with a cup of filter coffee costing 1.50!!

we're glad you enjoyed the Gruffalo's Child trail. We will be launching the Superworm trail on 13th March so we hope you'll come back and do that too. The new Bedgebury Cafe will also be opening in time for Easter.

My friend and I visited Saturday (31/01/15) to ride a couple of laps of the mountain bike single track and we both thoroughly enjoyed it, the track is fantastic with some real lung busting climbs, cardiac especially!! It's great visiting this time of year and really getting dirty. We're be seeing you again soon

Kevin L-Z, 4/Feb/2015

This is a great place for the kids. The woods are beautiful and the Grufalo trail is great fun. We will definitely go back again. The same cannot be said for the cafe. It is expensive and the staff are grumpy and unhelpful. Today they closed the cafe at 2:30 when it was advertised to be open until 4. I hope when the new cafe opens it will be run by someone else.

Went out on the mountainbike last weekend - great place to ride and track is well maintained. There are some challenging parts within the track but this is what you can expect on a red route - the alternative is the blue 'family route'.

I have to say the forest and surrounding are wonderful. My problem is with the prices in the cafe, to charge ■4.75 for a child's pack lunch that consist of a jam sandwich, packet of crisps and a kitkat is just shameful. I paid ■4.25 for a baget with 2 sausages in it and they hadn't even buttered it!!!!! So if you go be prepared with your own food and plenty of drinks as they really do take advantage of you.

We have been visiting the pinetum for over 40 years, since the days of the honesty box for entry. Whilst we appreciate the need to finance the pinetum we were disappointed to see the entrance fee has again risen and is now ■9.50 per day and will surely deter those visitors, who like us, live locally and enjoy coming for a short walk. Could consideration be given to an option to pay for half or part of a day?

This is a great place to take children! My boys (2 and 4) absolutely loved the hunt for the Gruffalo, and the adventure play trail. We stayed for about 5 hours, they loved every minute and didn't complain once about being tired or bored! We'll definitely be purchasing a membership and will be back asap. Recommended to all families.

Riding with a friend for the first time we took it easy to start but trust me you get into the flow real quick. It was great fun ups downs all arounds flying through the air on the camel humps, sliding around in the mud. You can have as much fun as you want with a good mix of riding to suit all. I will be going to this place from now on whenever I get the chance, it's so worth the visit trust in me you will enjoy. It's got it all parking toilets cafe etc and everything you will need for a great days riding. See you again soon :)

Fantastic family day out!! We took our boys (age 5 and 8) and the family bike trail was perfect. Plus they loved the adventure playground and the opportunity to play with as many big sticks as they wanted!! We are now trying to plan a day without they kids so we can try some of the harder trails. Also Quench Cycles were really helpful and nice.

Paid my first visit to bedgebury on Sunday 6th april with mountain bike in tow along with a few others who have been to bedgebury a few times. I had a brilliant ride down as many trails as we could fit in and loved the experience. Beautiful forest and all nicely laid out. The only downside is the cost of parking. ■9.50 for the day is a bit too steep in my opinion. All in all a great day but the car park charges took the shine off my experience a bit.
