Quinquennial Review stages
The Forest Research Quinquennial Review looked forward 5 years from April 2002 and was conducted in two stages:Stage 1This looked at the best organisational status for the next 5 years and reported in January 2002. The Review started in August 2001 with a consultation inviting the opinions of customers, partners and interested parties of all kinds (the ‘stakeholders’). Ministers accepted the recommendations in August 2002. Stage 2This looked at ways in which the performance of Forest Research might be improved; whether: - Performance targets were right
- It could be more responsive to people who use its services
- It could make better use of new technology
- It needed to be given more freedom and flexibility.
This stage reported in October 2002. The recommendations were approved by Ministers and are now being implemented.
