AMYLOSTEREUM LAEVIGATUM . A series of discs cut through a live Thuja plicata stem damaged by the canker not disease caused by this fungus . It probably entered the tree via branch stubs left after the collection of foliage for sale . This is the first recorded case of this disease resulting from natural ( rather than artificial ) infection on this Thuja species . Location: Salisbury , Wiltshire , England .
