PINES BESIDE THE RIVER AFFRICDog Falls is a stunning carpark set in the middle of the Caledonian pinewoods. There are several walks into the core pine reserve from here.

Mammals: Although Pinemartin are difficult to see during the day, we know that they visit the picnic area at Dog Falls at night to 'clear up' anything left on the picnic tables. We have information about Red squirrel, Red deer, Roe deer, Badger and Otter

Birds: All the walks from Dog Dalls carpark are great for bird watching. In the carpark itself chaffinches have become very tame and may want to share your lunch. We have information about Golden eagle and Osprey

Insects and reptiles: We have information about Adder and Pearl-bordered fritillary

Habitats: We have information about Pinewood and Upland bog

How to get there:
From either Beauly or Drumnadrochit, take the A831 to Cannich, then the uncassified road through Cannich which is signposted Glen Affric. After two miles, at the Fasnakyle power station, turn right up to Glen Affric. Dog Falls Carpark is a further two and a half miles along.
