Welcome to Whinlatter , England's only true Mountain Forest. Rising to 790 metres above sea level Whinlatter Forest Park offers spectacular views of the Lake District and into Scotland.
The Altura Trail puts altitude into Mountain Biking or Why not have a go on our Go Ape! course. It's a award winning high wire forest adventure course of extreme rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip slides. Or just visit for a quiet walk and a meal in our cafe.

Siskins cafe provides the visitor with great view of Grisedale Pike and sumptuous food. With an alpine style and outdoor eating area the cafe is a great place to relax and enjoy the mountain setting.
How to get there:
Whinlatter Visitor Centre is in Whinlatter Forest Park.
Road:- From Keswick: Take the A66 west towards Cockermouth. At Braithwaite turn west onto the B5292 for Lorton. Follow Visitor Centre Sign Posts.
Bus:- Bus from Keswick.
Train:- Nearest station is Penrith (25 miles east) on the west coast mainline.
Keswick is the nearest town or village.
