Nestling in the upper reaches of the River Usk, Glasfynydd Forest provides excellent opportunities for walking and cycling around the Usk reservoir.

How to get there:

Glasfynydd is part of Brecon Beacons National Park Forests. Trecastle is the nearest town or village.

Follow A40 to Trecastle, then signs to the Usk reservoir. Glasfynydd wood surrounds the reservoir.

Lovely wooodland, fantastic views from the top but waymarked routes would be a great help (similar to the Forest of Dean)

What's of interest

Of particular interest is the family circular mountain bike route-due. Parents beware - there are several muddy hollows and splashes - But - hey - thats why you're there ! Day fishing permits are available from Welsh Water at the side of Dam near the houses.
