Cwm Giedd

Although a relatively small wood, from the car park, there are a number of internal roads and paths suitable for linear scenic walks and out onto the Black Mountains and up to one of several aircraft crash sites.
There is a desire to develop a circular walk up the river Giedd - returning along the Nant Ceiliog. If you think this idea has merit, please get in touch.

How to get there:

Cwm Giedd is part of Brecon Beacons National Park Forests. Ystradgynlais is the nearest town or village.

Take A4067 Swansea to Ystragynlais road, Turn Left up Giedd valley and continue past the end of the public road

What's of interest
Formica Rufa Ants nests are to be found along one section of the Giedd valley. Take care in waterside areas as rivers can be dangerous. Water is often cold, deep and fast flowing. The ground near rivers is also steep, rough and slippery.
