Abergynolwyn
 

A large number of visitors take the Tal-y-Llyn steam Railway from Tywyn to the Nant Gwernol station in the forest. Alternatively park in the village of Abergynolwyn and take the short walk up the hill to Nant Gwernol. From here there are several walks in the forest.

How to get there:

Abergynolwyn is part of Dyfi. Abergynolwyn, Tywyn, Machynlleth, and Dolgellau are the nearest towns or villages.

Main line train to Tywyn and then steam train to Abergynolwyn/Nant Gwernol.
By car take the B4405 that joins Tywyn and the A487 at Minffordd.

What's of interest
The short Cascade Trail closely follows the the tumbling upland river and the longer Quarryman's Trail visits the ruined mine workings of Bryn Eglwys with expansive views of Cader Idris from high aboce the Nant Gwernol station. Leaflets are available from the Tal y Lyn stations and the Abergynolwyn Community Centre/Cafe.
