Miners' Bridge
Plynlimon Heritage Trust, on behalf of Pentir Pumlumon, obtained 100% funding to build a new footbridge at the site of the former Miners' footbridge over the River Ystwyth in Pontrhydygroes. The bridge is on the site of one built in the mid nineteenth century, when Pontrhydygroes was the centre of a thriving lead-mining industry. The old bridge is thought to have collapsed around 1920. An information board nearby explains the history of the site.

How to get there:
Miners' Bridge is in Coed Maenarthur. Pontrhydygroes is the nearest town or village.
From Aberystwyth follow the B4340 to Trawsgoed. Follow this road through Trawsgoed until the road crosses the Afon Ystwyth and turn immediately left, following the river towards Pontrhydygroes. Access to Coed Maenarthur is by the Miners’ Bridge in Pontrhydygroes village.
