Lovely stunning place. Signposts & Map don't tally, utterly confusing with us walking in wrong direction. Sign Posts need Work

I had a return visit to Craik Forest, the first time I had been there for about 10years. What a disappointment I got nothing seems to be managed anymore, The toilets were needing a good clean, The walks and the cycle tracks seem to be used as horse riding tracks.There is blown trees everywhere and the track to the Wolfcleuch Waterfall is nearly inpassable. the grassy area on the roadside into Craik looks like a ploughed field. The only positive was the bird feeders in the Policy Wood were filled and were attracting plenty of birds. This is not one of your better managed forests!

Used to come here all the time on the bike all year round and had some amazing runs and cycle runs. Went back last year to find they were doing loads of felling work which cutt off basically the whole bike route. Fair enough I though but to check up almost 9 months later to find they're still doing the same job is very disseapointing really. Such a waste of a great cycling spot. That said its still great for walks or runs!
