South Rannoch
 

This extensive forest contains a wide range of trees including fine remnants of the ancient forest that once covered much of Scotland.

The most notable of these is the Black Wood of Rannoch, a Caledonian Forest Reserve, which is further west and supports a vast array of plants, insects, birds and animals.

How to get there:

South Rannoch is part of Tay Forest Park. Kinloch Rannoch is the nearest town or village.

2 miles west of Kinloch Rannoch on South Loch Rannoch road.
