About Skelbo
The walk starts past the new pond and picnic area, heading down through a mixed woodland of Scots Pine to reach the Skelbo Burn.
The path has been opened up closer to the burn to reveal fine views over the North Sea coast, and in the summer there is a spectacular show of wild flowers close to the burn.
A major feature of the walk is the carved wooden animals designed by local children – see how many you can spot. Other interesting things on the walk are the hydraulic ram, once used to pump water to neighbouring farms, and the remains of a 2000 year old broch beside the path.
This is a great family walk.
