Glen Righ Wood

(Average user rating4 unrated 3.5/5)

About Glen Righ Wood

Inchree Wood is based round the community of Onich and is a mixture of broadleaves and commercial forest.

The land is steep in places but accessible from a central car park. Spectacular views to the isles in the West and North up the Great Glen are found on the walks.

The wood is a typical West coast situation and requires that any visitors should be prepared for any type of weather. Stout foot wear is recommended when walking.

How to get there:

Onich is the nearest town or village.

Drive south from Fort William for approximately 10 miles and about one mile past the Corran ferry ramp the entrance is on the left.

From the south on the A82 about one mile north of the Onich hotel on the right at the start of a straight section in the road. Look out for the Forestry Commission signs.

Buses are available - check at the local tourist information centres for more details.

The bridge over the river has made the wood much more accessible from Onich. A favourite place to walk each winter.
