About Ardgartan

PLEASE NOTE:

As at 2nd February our toilets are currently closed as the water supply is frozen.  We Will endeavour to have them open again as soonas possible.  Apologies for any inconvenience.

The nearest alterntaive toilets are in the 3 Villages Hall, Arrochar.

Following recent weather conditions, we would advise anyone visiting the forest to exercise extra caution as there are likely to be blown trees and storm damage which we have not had the opportunity to make safe.  We are currently working to inspect all our facilities and forest blocks, if you do come across anything of concern please do report it to us on 01369 860 703.

Across the levels of Loch Long, surging from sea level to high rocky crests, are the Brack, the Cobbler, Beinn Narnain, and A'Chrois - sounding a clarion call to the walker and climber.

From  Ardgartan , short strolls leading through woodland along by the Croe Water can be extended on the network of forest tracks virtually as far as you care to go - down the Loch Long shore in richly mixed woods.

See also our pages on forests around Dunoon.

How to get there:

Ardgartan is part of Argyll Forest Park. Arrochar is the nearest town or village.

By road, take the A82 along the western shore of Loch Lomond through Tarbet, entering the park at Arrochar.

You can also take the train or a coach from Glasgow to Arrochar.
