About Bourne Wood

A predominantly coniferous woodland situated on the crest of a hill. A promontary above a large heathland clearing offers an impressive view over the surrounding pine forests.
There are also other attractive areas of heathland in Bourne Wood. These are interspersed with silver birch and pine trees creating a more mature heathland habitat.
The sandy soil provides a good walking surface, allowing access to many of the tracks and public footpaths throughout the year.
Please note that there are no car parking facilites available for this wood.

How to get there:

Farnham is the nearest town or village.

Travelling south out of Farnham towards Tilford, Bourne Woods is on the right hand side approximately 2km south of the town.

i think this wood is a exeptional wood. one of a kind. i visit bourne wood every week to have a bike ride, walk or walk the dog.

Bourne Wood is used frequently as a filming location. It has not only featured in a wide range of TV commercials, but also as a popular location for big budget feature films. The opening battle scene in the blockbuster 'Gladiator' was filmed at Bourne Wood.
