A 2km drive along the forest tracks deep in to Great Wood brings you to Ramscombe, a particularly picturesque area of the wood and an ideal spot for a picnic. Here you will find toilets, barbeques and picnic tables (some are even specially designed for wheelchair use).
Ramscombe is the best place to start your day's activities whether it is a day of walking, cycling or horse riding.
The car park currently opens at 7am and will be locked at 6pm daily.
Parking charges apply. Cars - £1 for up to 2 hours or £2 for all day. Minibuses - £4. Coaches - £8.
Regular visitors can save money with a Discovery Pass. £20 gives free parking all year as well as a range of other benefits. Visit www.forestry.gov.uk/pass for more details.
