Kilburn Woods

(Average user rating5 unrated 5/5)

A very pleasant mixed woodland nestling around the cliffs from Sutton Bank and Roulston Scar to White Horse Bank. The most spectacular feature apart from the cliffs and nearby glider club is the Kilburn White Horse which is visible for many miles.

How to get there:

Thirsk is the nearest town or village.

By car. Follow the A170 for Scarborough, approaching Sutton Bank Kilburn Woods can be seen on the right (south) side of the road.

A great place and as a regular moth-trapper the only downside is the amount of dog-fouling, especially near the carparks. Would dog owners spare a thought for others for once!

Absolutely fantastic place. Visited in 2010 and took some fantastic shots from the top of the white horse. Well worth a visit.
