The Staindales, High and Low, take their names from the Viking for 'stony valley'. This is probably a reference to the rocky nature of nearby ravines and the amazing jurassic rock formations of the Bridestones and the Adderstone. A small attractive lake has been created in the valley providing a refuge for ducks and geese. NEW: The easy access Lakeside Trail has been extended to encircle the lake.
How to get there:
Low and High Staindale is in Dalby Forest.
Follow Dalby Forest Drive from Dalby Forest Visitor Centre and Shop for about three and a half miles. You will arrive at Low Staindale first. High Staindale is 400 metres further on.
