About Callan's Lane Wood

In an unspoilt part of rural Lincolnshire, this lovely little woodland has a good hard track running through the centre of it, giving year-round access for walkers and cyclists. The wood is gradually being restored to native broadleaf woodland under the 'Ancient Woodland Project'.

How to get there:

Callan's Lane Wood is part of Kesteven Forest. Kirkby Underwood is the nearest town or village.

The wood is located 1 mile west of Kirkby Underwood, which is itself 5 miles north of Bourne, just off the A15.

Very shocked to see this - once our favourite wood - has been totally decimated and looks as though an explosion has taken place. Totally ruined.

Been here, done this? What did you think?

What's of interest

Callan's Lane Wood has recently had thinning works carried out, to remove conifer trees and to help promote broadleaf trees in this Ancient woodland. The addtional light created on the woodland floor will soon develop into a lush green carpet.
