i visited it first in 1989 with my family and then the second time in 2006 with my wife.... it is one of the best walks that i have gone on so far in my life... their is peace and tranquility all around and the sound of wind blowing is just majestical ... would love to visit once again in the near future....

I wondered if anyone had ever got married in Friston forest and, if not, whether that would/could be possible? My fiancee and I have spent many wonderful hours there and couldn't think of a more appropriate place to promise to each other but have no idea if it would be possible...?

During the recent high winds of 6/7 Sept a lot of the pines on the scarp slope overlooking Charleston Bottom (Map Ref TQ53440 00135 are in a dangerous condition.) Some of which have fallen over. This is near the footpath and some of these trees are are a liability. There are also some beech and ash that also require attention. I am a regular walker of these woods and I thought I should draw your attention to this, mainly because of the proximity of the path Regards Paul Edmonds
