Walkers on a woodland trail

Tunstall Forest is a part of the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It consists of coniferous plantations, broadleaved belts and heathland areas which link up with both Tunstall and Blaxhall Common. These areas are very good for ground nesting birds such as the Nightjar and Woodlark.

Popular

Tunstall is very popular with walkers, cyclists and horseriders.

Had a lovely day walking in the forest. Only spoilt by the areas where the paths had deep shifting sand, which made it painful to walk on if you suffer from Plantar Fasciitis, and will probably limit the amount of times I'll be able to visit such a lovely place.

Watched deer eating plastic bags left by whoever feeds wild life in the north-eastern corner. Feedbags everywhere. Not impressed!
