Run by the Forestry Commission in partnership with The National Forest, this former coal mining site has been totally transformed by planting a new woodland and creating exciting new trails for you to enjoy. From tearaway toddlers getting their first taste of cycling to young teens perfecting their skills or families walking the dog, we’ve got a great day out just waiting for you!

How to get there:
Hicks Lodge is part of The National Forest. Ashby de la Zouch is the nearest town or village.
From the A42, take junction 12 towards Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Turn left after the golf course just before Ashby, then turn right on Willesley Woodside towards Moira. Look out for the entrance signs for Hicks Lodge.
