Kidland

Kidland Forest is remotely situated in the Cheviot Hills, and is one of the main red squirrel reserves in Northern England.

How to get there:

Harbottle is the nearest town or village.

From Rothbury travel west on the B6341, follow signs to Harbottle for 11/4 miles, after bridge turn right, follow signpost for Kidlandlee. Pedestrian access only.

I believe the quoted grid reference for Kidland is incorrect. The web page http://www.forestry.gov.uk/website/recreation.nsf/LUWebDocsByKey/EnglandClevelandKidland says NY917105 but I think that is well to the south of Kidland. I make Kidlandlee to be NT912099. I realise that this may be a cunning ruse to avoid this beautiful place being overrun by tourists...
