Although the project has been running for several years the principal research activities to date have been:
- Site maintenance
- Data collection
- Data storage
- Data quality assurance
Provisional yield estimates for each variety at each site are available for each year in the first rotation and for the first year in the second rotation (Phase 1 sites only).
Yield achieved in the second rotation is likely to be very different to that achieved in the first rotation as the coppice stools will have become established and insect and disease population will have changed.
Modeling and analysis have begun but can only be completed once the data from the second rotation has been collected, quality assured and stored.
As the modeling and analysis phase of the project progresses more yield information and site condition/varietal relationships will be available.
These tasks are completed and the final results will be published once the final report has been approved.
