We maintain two registers that give information about certain decisions we make:
Grant scheme and felling applications
This Register shows details of grant applications to carry out new planting, or other forestry work, and felling included in the grant application. If felling only is proposed, details from the felling licence are published. A map displaying the boundary or location of the proposals can also be viewed. Case details are displayed at the stage when the Forestry Commission is prepared to approve the application and remains on the Register for four weeks. Case details are displayed again when the application has been approved.
Environmental Impact Assessments
Under the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) (Forestry) Regulations 1999 we must show the decisions we make about whether proposals will have a significant effect on the environment. Details of the case and the Forestry Commission decision at the initial assessment (opinion) are shown.
Where Forestry Commission consent to carry out the work is required, details of two further stages are displayed, when the applicant arranges the scoping meeting and the Forestry Commissions final decision (determination) about whether or not consent will be given to start the work.
Any comments received may be made available to any other interested party.
