Wales- a new body, Natural Resources Wales has taken over the functions previously carried out by Forestry Commission Wales. 

General Principles

• We expect that all forestry work undertaken through any of our grant schemes meets the requirements of the UK Forestry Standard (974k - pdf) - the government's approach to sustainable forestry.
  
  
• Fores operations can have a significant impact on the local area and amenity.  Therefore it is essential that you discuss your proposals for your woodland with your neighbours, or anyone who may have an interest in the land, before you start any work.
