HALF-TERM AND HALLOWEEN SORTED AT COOKWORTHY FOREST
It may seem like the summer holidays have only just finished but already the October half-term looms! However, parents can rest assured that the Forestry Commission has a range of events organised to keep the kids amused.
On Tuesday 28 October and Thursday 30 October the recreation ranger will be running Bushcraft skills events at Cookworthy Forest. The sessions, for children aged between eight and 12 years will include cooking over an open fire, trekking and shelter building. The sessions start at 10.30am and finish at 1pm and are for children aged between eight and 12 years old. They cost £5 per child – accompanying adults go free.
On Friday 31 October, local ‘Storyfella’, Clive Pig, will be entertaining families in the Celtic roundhouse at Cookworthy with some strange and spooky stories for Halloween. People are being encouraged to enter in to the Halloween spirit and dress up. The first session will start at 5pm and is aimed at children between four and eight years old. There will then be a later session, starting at 6.30pm, which is for children aged over eight. The cost is £4 per person.
Families with children in both age ranges are advised to attend the earlier sessions and to bring a torch and blanket or cushion for comfort.
Booking is essential for all these events – call 01392 834233.
