HOLIDAY IDEAS FOR CHILDREN AT HALDON FOREST PARK
Summer has arrived and so has the school holidays – six weeks of trying to keep the children amused beckons. Help is on hand from the Forestry Commission, which has organised a series of fun, exciting and educational activities aimed at children between eight and twelve at Haldon Forest Park near Exeter.
Children will get the chance to be Junior Rangers for the day and take part in activities ranging from tracking animals, building shelters, lighting fires and building bird boxes. Different activities will be provided at each session and parents do not have to stay with their children. Each session costs £12 or alternatively five sessions can be booked for £50.
The sessions have been organised as part of the Forestry Commission’s Active Woods campaign, which promotes the vast range of health, education and fitness opportunities offered by Britain’s woodlands.
Sessions will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1.30pm-4.00pm, throughout the school summer holidays, from 31 July – 28 August. Places are limited so early booking is advised.
