CHILDREN'S EASTER FUN AT BEDGEBURY
Children and parents in search of a fun outdoor activity for the Easter Holidays need look no further than the Easter event on Tuesday 3 April at Bedgebury, Kent (part of the Forestry Commission).
For the first hour, children will follow clues round Bedgebury’s National Pinetum to track down the nine pieces of the Easter Bunny. Each time they find a piece they draw it, creating a complete Easter Bunny picture. While they are scouring the Pinetum, they will also be collecting natural materials such as leaves, cones and twigs. After refreshments in the classroom, they will spend the second hour making these into a nest for a three-dimensional Easter card; with glue, feathers, cotton wool and anything else that comes to hand.
“This is a great chance to explore the Pinetum to find out about the trees when everything is bursting into life, and to celebrate Easter by getting creative.” says Bedgebury’s Education Manager Cath Armstrong.
The 10am to 12 noon session is for 4 to 6 year olds. The 1pm to 3pm session is for 7 to 12 year olds. The event costs £5 per child (Bedgebury’s £6 car parking charge applies). As spaces are limited, pre-booking is essential for this event; via- the Information Office at Bedgebury Visitor Centre or by phone on 01580 879820. Only one accompanying adult per child.
