NEWS RELEASE No: 9873

WESTONBIRT CONCERTS PLAY ON

Forest Tour 2006 - Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
The Forestry Commission have confirmed that the concerts tonight and tomorrow night (Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July) at Westonbirt Arboretum WILL go ahead.

The Commission was forced to cancel Friday night's Jools Holland concert, due to the hours of torrential rain on Friday, but will be honouring the tickets at tonight's classical extravanganza by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, and at the M People concert which rounds off the 2007 Forest Tour on Sunday night.

Arboretum director John Weir said:

"The break in the weather has enabled the site to recover, and the forecast is looking better for this evening and tomorrow, so we are pleased to announce we can continue on schedule. We hope all those who bought tickets to the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra concert tonight and M People tomorrow can come and enjoy these unique shows."

People who purchased tickets for the cancelled Jools Holland concert who wish to attend the RCPO or M People concerts should bring their tickets to the box office marquee, on the night of the concert they want to attend, to receive a replacement ticket, and be refunded the difference of the ticket price.
