David Gray forest dates announced
One of the most influential British singer-songwriters of the past decade, David Gray, has announced a brace of gigs this summer as part of the Forestry Commission Live Music programme taking place in spectacular woodland locations across the country.
Having released three albums through the nineties, David Gray’s fourth LP ‘White Ladder’ established the artist on the international stage. ‘A New Day At Midnight’ and ‘Life In Slow Motion’ continued the success with number one album chart positions in each case. His ‘Greatest Hits’ release that followed illustrates the popularity of an artist with over 11 million album sales to date featuring his classic songs such as ‘Shine’, ‘Please Forgive Me’, ‘Babylon’, ‘The One I Love’, ‘The Other Side’, ‘Sail Away’, ‘This Year’s Love’, ‘Alibi’ and ‘Be Mine’. David is currently working on his new album ‘Jackdaw’, due out in the autumn.
The Forestry Commission is committed to taking woodlands to new audiences, and making them relevant to people in new ways. The forest tour is self-sustaining, paying for itself, and providing valuable revenue to plough back into the woodland in a variety of environmental and social projects.
David Gray will be performing at:
Thetford Forest, Near Brandon, Suffolk, Friday 10th July
Westonbirt Arboretum, Near Tetbury, Glos, Friday 17th July
Tickets £31.50 (subject to booking fee) are available from 9am on Friday 6th March from the Forestry Commission Box Office tel 01842 814612, online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music or over the counter from the venue.
