NEWS RELEASE No: 10334

SHAKESPEARE IN THE FOREST

Habitat
The British Shakespeare Touring Company will be holding an open-air evening performance of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM in the Glenbervie Meadow at Alice Holt Forest at 7.30pm on Sat 19 July 2008. Tickets are now available priced at £15 adults, £12 concessions and £8 children from www.facsimilieproductions.co.uk.

The shows are specifically designed to be accessible and entertaining for anyone of any age, whether they are well versed in Shakespeare or just casual theatregoers. It is likely that actors will be on the forest trail leading to the performance area as people arrive, so an atmosphere will be built before the play begins!

"The relaxed and informal atmosphere of an open-air event appeals to many who might be put off by the more formal setting of sitting in an indoor theatre for two hours." comments Colin Palmer of the Forestry Commission. "The emphasis of the evening will very much be on people having a fun night out, enjoying a picnic and a few drinks and watching some great theatre in a beautiful forest setting."
