BRITISH SEA POWER TO TAKE MORAY COAST BY STORM
Rising indie stars British Sea Power are to join forces with music giants Pulp for Friday's midsummer night concert at Roseisle Forest near Elgin.
The Brighton-based four-piece will be adding extra spice to the forest concert with their acclaimed guitar sound which has drawn comparisons with the likes of Joy Division and Echo and the Bunnymen.
The band are very excited to be supporting Pulp and are hoping to see a capercaillie during their trip to the north of Scotland.
Featuring army uniforms, glass-breaking stares and a stage set involving twigs and nests British Sea Power live in the forest is going to be an unmissable experience.
Also supporting is Sheffield singer songwriter Richard Hawley, former Longpigs guitarist who now plays with Pulp as well as pursuing a successful solo career.
Roseisle Forest is set on the Moray coast near Elgin and managed by the Forestry Commission. District manager Phil Whitfield says the excitement is building up for the big night:
"Preparations are certainly hotting up now that we've got such a superb line up for the night. All the artists have first class reputations for playing live so we know we are in for a treat. We expect the atmosphere at Roseisle to be electric!"
Phil urged gig goers who had not already got their tickets to book them in advance from telephone hotline or local outlets. "We've met our sales targets and it's building up to be a terrific event - but it's not too late, there are still tickets."
Tickets cost £20 and are available from the Forestry Commission's Box Office Hotline on 01842 814612 (10.00am - 5.00pm, delivery on the gate for all orders placed this week), from Virgin Megastores throughout Scotland, Eden Court Theatre in Inverness, and Sound & Vision in Elgin.
| Return bus travel direct to the site is available from major Scottish towns and cities. The site will feature a fully stocked bar and catering at reasonable prices.
