Special arrangements are being finalised for Santa’s annual visit to The Bin Forest, near Huntly (2 miles north of Huntly on the A96).
With more demands on his time than ever, Santa will this year be visiting on Saturday 3 December before rushing off to meet thousands of eager youngsters around the country.
And because his visits to The Bin Forest are always so busy, he's invited the Gruffalo along to help out!
A spokesperson for Santa said:
“Santa loves visiting the Bin Forest because it reminds him so much of home – and he is always really happy to see the look of sheer joy on the faces of local children when they visit him.
“He’s especially looking forward to this year because so many children missed out last year when the heavy snow stopped people from getting out and about safely.
“Hopefully, everyone will be able to come along this year and join Santa and the Gruffalo as they start getting ready for the festive season.”
Once you arrive you will follow a short magical trail from the Bin Forest car park, through the candle lit woods to meet Santa and his Elves and warm yourself by the log fire. You can also enjoy some story telling, a wishing tree where messages for Santa can be left and – of course - some fairy light glitter and gleam.
And after a trip to the Grotto you'll also be able to enjoy a hot drink and warm yourself beside the large open fire that will help to give you toasty toes.
Santa and the Gruffalo will be on site and ready for visitors from 11.00am - 3.00pm and local guides and schoolchildren will be helping Forestry Commission Scotland staff to make it a very special weekend. There will be a £4 charge per vehicle for this event.
You can also take the opportunity to enjoy one of the longer trails through the forest, and let a quiet, peaceful walk put you in the right frame of mind for the hectic festive season.
