Forestry Commission Scotland is advising members of the public that its car parks at Dunnottar Woods, Stonehaven, will be closed later this week.
The two car parks will not be accessible on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 June 10 whilst vital resurfacing work is carried out.
Dan Cadle, for the Commission’s team in Aberdeenshire said:
“The winter weather has caused some degradation to surfaces in our car parks and trails.
“Dunnottar is one of the top sites in the area for recreational visits and lots of people love coming here to walk, jog or cycle and to unwind from their normal busy lives.
“We want people to visit our woods and enjoy them, so it’s important that we carry out these repairs as quickly as we can.
“We appreciate that closing the car parks will cause some inconvenience, and we apologize for that, but we expect to have them open again for the weekend.”
The Commission is urging members of the public to observe all signage at the sites and to follow directions from staff as required.
